Smart Shopping Cart with Automatic Billing System using Rfid and Arduino
Smart Trolley Smart Cart System leverages IoT technology to revolutionize the shopping experience by automating product tracking and checkout processes. Inspired by the Amazon Go concept, this system integrates RFID tags on products and unique QR codes on shopping baskets to create a seamless, efficient shopping journey. When a customer picks a basket and scans the QR code using an Android application, the system links the basket to the user’s account. As items are placed in the basket, RFID readers automatically detect the tags and update the user’s cart in real-time. Upon finishing their shopping, customers can review their items and proceed to checkout through the application.
The project will consist of two primary components: the smart trolley and the age-restricted locker system. The smart trolley will be equipped with an RFID reader to automatically scan products as they are placed in the basket. This function will allow for real-time tracking of items added to the user’s shopping cart, simplifying the checkout experience and providing immediate access to the total cost of selected items via an accompanying mobile application.
